Romance is not just fluff. Romance is love. And when it's real, it can be very powerful. So powerful that it can see you through the most difficult times in your life.
I have proven this with my husband.
I am the only child and last year, my Dad got very ill. We took care of him until he passed away in May. They were the darkest days of my life and I only got through them because I had my husband by my side, as well as our kids. This family, bound by an ongoing romance, is my strength and my life.
Right now we are taking care of my Mom who is also bedridden. These are difficult times for us again, and we are facing it together.
This is why I have not been able to post these past days. I will try to post as often as I can but when I'm absent you'll know why.

mommy is indeed lucky to have a daughter as loving and caring as you. and with your children observing everything that you are doing, and also contributing in their own ways, you can rest assured that your kids are absorbing precious traits... hang in there, you and your family are in the Good Lord's embrace.
ML, as you know, mommy and I have a complicated relationship - as most mothers and daughters, I think. She is not an easy patient to care for and I know I am also not the ideal caregiver. But this phase is allowing us to refine our relationship further, purge what needs to be purged and build on the love that is always there despite everything. Yes, all these are part of the kids' lessons in life, too.
Aside from having my family beside me, having friends like you virtually holding my hand keeps me strong... and sane :)
